Oh dear, I'm sorry, its not easy to weigh in, is it? Do I have to worry about you, anorexia, really? Read your comment on my journal and I know you were just 'talking'. Sometimes it does seem easier just not to eat. Its so freakin hard, I hear you. It's like being an alcoholic (and I do not mean to belittle alcoholism, its a terrible disease) but alcoholics have to abstain from alcohol, and its like we have to abstain from all sugar. And that is just not fun. There are so many good tasting bad for you foods out there. Big hugs dear, I so understand. You were very brave to post your weight and you can do this, and you will. We are all here for each other. Re your challenge invitation - thanks for the invite but I don't eat a lot of fruit as I'm low carb, and I do really well with veggies (I think), having 2 different veggies most nights at dinner (that my lovely old man cooks for me) Have an awesome day :)

No, you don't have to worry. As I said, I'm too smart for anorexia. I'm trying Michael Mosely's intermittent fasting. I expected to be ravenous on my non-food days and, especially, the day after. I'm not. As I said, it's much easier to eat nothing than to eat less, hence, the observation about anorexia. For the record, I'm not doing the fasting for weight loss but for the suggested brain stimulation. I'm very worried about memory loss. Thanks so much for your input. It's nice to know others care. Big hugs back, my friend.

I hadn't read that fasting helps with brain function - I'll need to research that. I too worry about my memory. My grandmother and my mother had dementia in their latter years so I fear it may be hereditary. I joke about it, saying at least if I'm nuts I won't know I'm nuts, but it scares me a lot! I am sure losing weight and being in general better health couldn't hurt. Always something to worry about, and I know you are too smart to go 'anorexic'. Hope your week-end is fabulous.

Thanks for taking the time to outline the fasting plan, it does sound easy. Not sure if I can go a whole day without food but then it is 500 calories a day so you get to eat something. I too don't exercise - I am old too (57 - not that old) and I hurt a lot, arthritis in the knees and also I am very very lazy. I work outside the home so by the time I get home and tidy up the dishes after supper I am not going to exercise, I am going to park my butt and relax. Have a great evening hun. See you next week likely.

I didn't know how I'd do it either. It turned out, for me at least, the fast days are easy. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day, so my 500 cals were an easy pick. LOL. Like I said, I don't know if it will really help, but it can't hurt. I'll be 69 on June 13, so I really AM getting up there. I'm trying to get started with exercise by walking to the end of my long, hilly driveway and back once every hour. I no longer have a "work" excuse. I'm just plain lazy :-/ Have a great weekend Is.
