Not surprised by this slight weight gain. Not much change, but I finally received an online order of nut butters that took forever to be delivered, so higher intake of nut butters = weight gain. I did some exercise on my treadmill last Saturday, but it was so painful for my legs after a mere 15 minutes! I did walk/run a distance of 1.5 km (0.926 mile) though. Unfortunately, I only did this once.

Grocery shopping is still a pain. I was able to buy some of it online and it ended up being more expensive for less choice. I still had to go inside the store and wash my hands at the store entrance -- and was stuck using wet paper towels - hand sanitizer would have been more hygienic. I am still waiting for masks I ordered online. With postal and courier services taking much more time than pre-COVID, delivery might take at least a month.

The good news this week: my blood pressure lowered to normal levels on Sunday, and to optimal levels since Monday! My BP was as low as 105/63 this morning! Not sure if this is due to my next period coming up sometime next week. After such great BP, I figured, why not take my fasting blood glucose? It was at 5.2 mmol/l (93.6 mg/dl) this morning around 10 AM. Not sure if I fasted 12 hours before taking it, because I remember having had a late snack yesterday around 9:30 or 10 PM (decaf espresso with the equivalent of a teaspoon of nut butter).

I have just read that it is practically impossible for hypertensive people with a genetic disposition to high BP (like me) to decrease or get off medication. This is quite disheartening to read. I started suffering from hypertension at a relatively young age, and I would have liked to lower the dose of one of the drugs I am taking (the ARB) because I suspect that it may have caused a late-onset unpleasant side effect (redness around the eyes and some swelling to my eyelids). However, it is not life-threatening and I am afraid that another change in dosage or in medication might increase BP.

Weather-wise, it is mostly overcast with the occasional sun rays in my area. It is pretty cold for this time of the year: about freezing water temperatures (0-5 C or 32-41 F), with some snow flakes! Hopefully it will warm up in the upcoming days!
