Trust me, I messed up with my start weight (I thought I was doing well!). Have now fixed it. Problem is/was; my scales are in kilos, so I have to convert into pounds by multiplying with 2.2.

Last Saturday I started Atkins WOL at 231 lb, in my first week I have lost almost 2 lb. Not a lot, I was expecting much more! Yesterday I weighed in 1/2 lb heavier, today even heavier still at 13 oz - which means I have put on almost one and half pounds in 2 days!

I know our bodies fluctuate a lot. I weigh myself first thing in the morning, after having a pee, and before having a drink or taking any food.

My other problem is constipation (which could explain the weight going on), I drink a lot of water, I eat vegetables with practically every meal - but I have always been a little like this.

I know I am losing because my clothes are a little looser, including the blood pressure band that I use to take my blood pressure each day - it now fits much better.

I am delighted with my blood pressure, I started the week at 160/98, this morning it was 131/103.

Looking forward to enjoying next week WOE, and a further Blood pressure drop. Also, I plan to write up my food for the day every morning, this way I can juggle the carbs around, acting proactive instead of reactive.

My husband has been on the same food as me, only he has skimmed milk in tea and I have heavy cream in coffee. He has done so well, losing 8 lb. He is delighted and I`ve told him that the loss of 8 lb shows. When I asked him if he could see any drop with me, he said no! (He doesn't have to be so honest! lol).
103.8 kg Lost so far: 2.2 kg.    Still to go: 31.2 kg.    Diet followed: Reasonably Well.

Jen, men do lose faster w/ Atkins in the beginning...just a metabolic difference...don't lose heart. Good to be proactive w/ your food choices and pre-logging them before you eat is a great technique to see where your totals are BEFORE you go over. As for the constipation, there are a number of threads on this site with great tips...personally I take Metamucil Fiber Caplets (it says take 2, 3x's a day). I DO NOT! I take One in the AM w/ Bkfst, and one in the PM w/ Dinner, and sometimes not at all...and it keeps me just fine...and only one carb for those 2 caplets. Hope you can find those wherever you are in the world...I get them at the drugstore here. Be sure to hang tough, stick with it...and don't forget to drink water! If you are eating a clean induction (meaning only foods from the induction list) it will kick into gear...just keep at it. :) good luck!!

Thanks for the Metaucil tip - I'm a Brit living in Spain who will be visiting the farmacia on Monday asking about Metamucil or something similar. I am sure the farmacia can look up the name in their 'bible' of drugs to find one similar. Muchas Gracias Jsfantome.

I agree, men lose a lot faster, we woman have all kinds of hormones that want to keep the fat on and fight us every step of the way!!! And I only lost 2 lbs my first weeks too, lots of us lose slower than others, but 1 - 2 lbs a week fat loss is normal. And when you get your fiber, check the carbs, I found the one I had was also metamucil, but was 3 carbs per capsule, lucking I didnt take it!!
