It took a few more snacks than usual -- and maybe my period that was coming up and started yesterday -- to gain that weight this week! I should stop ordering low-carb bars from the Internet, but there is always something new and interesting to try.

I tried from iHerb.com the bison/cranberry Epic meat bars. They are really good, except that the net carb count is higher than most low-carb sweet bars due to the actual sugar (cranberry) content (about 7 or 8 grams). I think I ate them too often this week. And I also felt ravenous in the past evenings. I have noticed that eating more carbs tends to make me eat more calories, hence the weight gain. I have to practice more control!

And this is going to be hard for the next few days, because my birthday is coming up next week and I plan to celebrate this weekend by eating a nice ribeye and a low-carb cupcake or two! And wine, of course. At least my blood pressure seems to be well-controlled lately so that is a plus for me just before starting a new year of my life.

Weather-wise, it will be nasty on my birthday (rain!) but gloriously sunny this weekend! How great is that! Have a nice and healthy weekend!

Happy Birthday!!! You're doing great. It's wonderful to hear that your BP has been stable too. And enjoy that steak, a tasty meal just for you.
