Shereen Donede's Journal, 22 Feb 20

It doesn't matter if I eat one slice of bread or if i eat a bowl of macaroni and cheese - the next day I will be up by at least 1.5kg. my body does not respond well to these foods - I get seriously bloated. I know it. And I am always ok with the gain the next day. Why? Because this is a lifestyle for me and part of that is to indulge in my favourite things once in a while. I've gone from eating probably 6 slices of bread a day and pasta at least twice a week or more to only having these kinds of foods once or twice a month. It gives me a mental break. I also know that the gain doesn't mean that I have lost all my hard work. I know this because I weigh myself every day. That's not everyone's ideal, but it suits me, because it gives me very clear information about the effect certain foods have on my body. I have loads of food related allergies and more than likely am gluten/wheat intolerant (although I haven't been tested for that). So how does one get back on track after a treat day? We just do! Back to my usual - fasting, protein and plants. For the next few days I'll be diligent and focused. I won't punish myself mentally for "cheating" - because I didn't cheat, I treated myself to something yummy and now I move on...
Just wanted to share with you all the way I think about these things. the way we speak to ourselves is important. be positive and kind to yourself.

Shaun T says there's no such thing as a cheat meal, only a treat meal, so you go girl!! You would only be cheating on your lifestyle if you were a perfect human being, which none of us are. Hope you are having a good weekend!
