Texasgranny6's Journal, 05 Feb 20

Well, here I am again! I was doing so well and stopped recording and journaling. That's the bad news. The other bad news is that my blood sugar is out of control. Most of my readings for the last few months are in the 200s. And I'm supposed to see my Dr. again in March. The good news is that I'm just 2 pounds up from my last recorded weight. So I will start again and see if I'm able to get the blood sugar down again by March. This morning fasting glucose was 219 and weight was 183.

I have been eating Keto off and on, with cheats, even though I haven't been recording. I was probably not in ketosis at all. Now that I am journaling again I hope to see the weight and the glucose drop rapidly. I know the method works. The question is, by eating carelessly over several months, have I moved beyond the point where my natural insulin is still working or have I exhausted it? I few weeks back on strict Keto will tell the tale.

Going back to a ketogenic WOE should help. Try not to cheat, though.

Texasgranny! Good to see you again! I was "away" for a bit, too, but gained a lot more weight than you did during my hiatus. Get back into your old LCHF/keto habit and your BS readings will come into line fairly promptly. Best wishes and good luck!

Best of luck to you. Please do everything you can to drop the blood glucose. You are on the right track. I’m glad you’re going to see the doctor again.
