Visiting Weekend via the telephone, computer or in person, you name it, I was enjoying the company of my family and friends:) My laundry list of household chores needs attention but I will catch up during the evenings this week and this coming Friday. My weight is remaining steady which is great as I will not do extensive cardio this morning because I have P.E. on the black top at Mary's school from 8am to 8:30 and will be attending the Principles Tea.

Sensible Choices

You might be making sudden choices about your life situation based on your emotional desire and this could lead you to act impulsively. Even though it can be healthy to rely on your feelings to make decisions, there are also times when it is just as essential to think more carefully about the choices you make. Should you, for example, feel the need to acquire something based solely on a sensation – be it physical, emotional or psychological – you might use the power of your breath to slow you down and help you to decide if it is something you really need. You can, for example, take a few deep abdominal breaths while at the same time asking yourself “Do I really want this?” and wait for the answer. This simple reflective act could help you to see more clearly what is truly necessary and what is extraneous.

Learning to do things based on what our inner self really wants allows us to be much more sensible about our decisions. Acting with our emotions works some of the time but it is also necessary to temper our compulsive desires with the ability to think rationally. Our breath is a powerful tool for doing this, for it both makes it easier for our minds to ponder what we are doing and also connects us to the deepest part of ourselves, the aspect that knows what it is we truly desire. By listening to your inner self today you will make much more sensible choices that will work the best for you.
