Exercise is good for many things but significant caloric expenditure is not one of them. It takes a calorie deficit of 3500 to lose 1 pound. Disappointing but true. The body doesn’t want to lose weight or increase its metabolic rate. The body is always expecting a famine so conserves if possible. Because of that “fear” we are programmed to eat food when we see food. Those who didn’t do that died during hard times. Just like the ones that wanted to investigate the strange noises outside the cave 😳👀🦁🐯🐗🐊. Exercise can increase calories expended while exercise is being done but not the basal metabolic rate.
