This is the wonderous workings of your body. Often when we shrink our fat cells, water will go there to "hold" its place. Once it figures out that the fat isn't coming back, it will release the water and you will have a "whoosh" effect. Scales are really not our friend and measurements are more accurate to what is happening. Some people have no scales for that reason. I personally still weigh myself but know that trying on smaller clothes is the best way to tell me where I am at.

I agree. Better to weigh in once a week so as to not be discouraged.

If you look at the sodium in your foods Bianca you might find some surprises. For example there's lots in tinned fish and tabouleh. You'll drop excess water if you cut out some sodium. Reducing your sodium intake is heart-healthy too as it lowers your blood pressure. Eating foods high in potassium (like broccoli, kale, salads, oranges) helps get rid of excess fluid too. I hate lugging around that extra water weight so have totally cut out tinned soup, salad dressing, chips, cheese, pizza and deli meats. Reducing your sodium intake is heart-healthy too as it lowers your blood pressure. I weigh myself every day because it helps keep me on track but the loose-fitting clothes certainly tell the real story as Birdeegirl said.

Great insight guys! I really appreciate it! Its been 2 months since i weighed myself and i was suprised to see the same number on the scale but its so true! I’ve been having some nuts latly that are packed with salt, and i should follow my clothes because now i can drop my jeans without unbuttoning them. I am really thankful, because i was sad and thought all the hard work is gone for nothing!

Bianca, I’d check your scale to. The numbers don’t make sense. If you haven’t weighed yourself in two months and all your measurements are down. And youre down a belt size ..... then there should be movement on the scale. Could your scale be broken? Or some other factor from the first weight two months ago??? If your down a belt size, I think it’s fair to guesstimate your down 8 to 10 lbs

You are probably building lean muscle mass ,muscle weighs more than fat and takes up less space in the body

Nehiyaw, i felt something was wrong but i don’t know what.... i should check the scale! Because it feels so unfair after all the hard work that the scale didn’t move.

Muscle is more dense and heavy so dont be overwhelmed if your "weight" stays the same, honestly as long as you are living a healthier lifestyle, and feeling great about clothes being more loose, you have made wonderful progress at losing "weight". Im putting quotations on weight because ur goal may be to lose any unnecessary weight you feel you may have but its perfectly healthy to have lean mass from exercise. keep it up! 👍

I use to do and think the same thing, now I measure myself both ways weekly at the same time and it provides a great visual for how I'm actually doing, one week my measurements may not move but weight is down while other weeks it's opposite, it's all depending on water, waste not yet dispelled, fat to muscle transformation etc etc etc so it can literally can change by the hour..
