Going, going, going. I'm at the half way point and am right on schedule! TOWANDA!!!

"Why oh why do we go to food for consolation?" you ask. This sounds like a book all of us foodie buddies need to start writing to help overcome the addiction. Yes, food can be like a drug that numbs us and gives us short term comfort. Food came to us first from Mother and Mother Earth Provides for us. In my eyes FOOD is one of our most wonderful gifts on earth. In my world I have disrespected the gift and I think from this overindulgence and mindless eating I became my worst enemy. Food is not the enemy it is a gift that sustains our life energy or drains our life energy. We have another gift called choice which is what we are all trying to make the best choice for ourselves by finding new sources for energy and things to love. Yes I love food but will now respect it:) Food is a great teacher.

Hi Lisa! You are doing fabulously well, keep up the great work. At the risk of exposing my ignorance, may I ask you to explain what the word TOWANDA means? :-) I see it in the Urban Dictionary but, you seem to be using it in a slightly different way, I think.

Lisa, thank you for stopping by my journal and glad you like the quote. I love things like that, proverbs, etc. Sometimes they say what I cannot find the words for. Yes, today was better. Work has just been so difficult this week and I guess I let it get to me. I could not believe other co-workers were still eating stale donuts!! This grossed me out and I had NO DESIRE to eat them again. The weekend is another matter. BBQ plans with family. Really hard not to over-do things. Will faithfully log it in tho. Hope your weekend is a good one as well as relaxing.

Hi Lisa, just stopping by and thought I would say hi. I am in the middle of my work nights, off tomorrow and back for 3. Hopefully it will be nice so we can BBQ tomorrow or monday. I love BBQ, found a great replacement for brats (mmmm brats!) at Costco. Chicken sausages with red pepper and spinach, also the chicken sausage with feta and spinach is also good and soooo much healthier than the beloved brat! Hope you have a great holiday weekend!
