Holding steady and doing well. No rest for the wicked. Even though it is a holiday here in the USA I was up at my normal time to go to the gym and my wife has a bunch of projects she wants me to get through today.

Another important thing today (for me at least) – it has now been one year since I started on my weight loss journey. One year ago I weighed in at 306lbs. When I started, even reaching my first goal of 250lbs seemed like a stretch. But with a lot of work and support I hit that goal, and then the next, and then the next, and then the next one after that. This morning I weighed in at 163lbs (a total loss of 143lbs)! The journey isn’t over yet – in fact it really has only begun. I am learning how to eat to maintain my weight now – trying to find the right balance. But I know with support of friends, family, and my buddies here on FS I will be successful.

Be Happy!

Congratulations on all of your hard work and persistence. It is terrific that you have been able to change your life so dramatically. It is hard work to maintain, but then again, it ain't easy being fat. The trade offs are just in different areas of our lives. Happy Independence Day! Enjoy the freedoms of your new body. :)
