Lisa Online's Journal, 10 Apr 10

3 years before F.S. I did the exercise part but wasn't watching the calorie intake part. Exercise will always be a challenge as their is no limit to building strength and endurance. It is a necessary part of my daily routine which is challenging in a busy or lazy life. My body and mind benefit from the consistent exercise. Before F.S. I was practicing for my new habits and lifestyle by carrying around 60 pounds of weight while exercising "Extreme Weight Training"! (This struck me funny as I was thinking about it today while I was on the Stair Master)

Since January 1, 2010 I have been watching my Calories and weight is coming off. Now I am able to burn the fat instead of maintain or even gain. In some ways the old habits were easier because I didn't have to think and plan as much. Periodically, I find myself mourning my old life because in some ways it was easy. It takes great effort to lose and maintain weight especially in the world we live in where the computer, T.V. and food are so readily available. My world is changing with effort and I am feeling happier about myself because I am more energetic, my clothes feel better and this makes it so worthwhile.

Good job today on your calorie intake. I flubbed a bit but also went for a long walk which turned into a 4 mile hike with my sweety :)We can change all those bad habits one day at a time.

Well Mary that left over Easter Candy ended up in my food journal later last night. Yep, we can change those bad habits one day at a time lol. I saw a special on PBS last night about the brain and how we can eliminate these empty calorie foods because they are as addictive as heroin. I truly believe sugar is that way for me:) I need to say NO and mean it but my brain is having a hard time letting go lol
