Johanne's Journal, 16 Dec 11

Went to bed early . . . woke up late. I must have needed the sleep. I'm off to get coffee and breakfast. I'll fill this in later. Good morning all my buds!

It's 2:pm. I'm checking in again before I fix lunch. I have my china cabinet pulled away from the wall and emptied. I'm ready to pull up the last of the carpet . . . except for the kitchen. Who, in their right mind, puts carpet down in a kitchen. OMG, it's nasty!!! As soon as I get the house completely cleared away, my son says he'll buy me ceiling, wall and cement paint and sealer. The house has never been painted in the 45 years since it was built, except for the two rooms I did. The floors were never meant to be bare and are UGLY!!! There is old 1980s border peeling in the dining room and main bath and none of the ceiling fans work any more. I want to be happy in my house. I'm NOT right now. I need a little Feng Shui!

Morning Jo.. We have already fed the cows...Max (the bull) was kinda sorta eyeballing me...so I hid behind a big bale of hay until husband run him off with the tractor...I am very leary after watching that show about pets killing their owners..LOL...Enjoy your breadfast and coffee. Loooove ya....☺

LOL! I can just see you peeping out from around a round bale. Bulls scare the daylights out of me ever since I watched Rosie coming across the pasture with his horns inches from my daddy's butt. Six year olds are VERY impressionable. Hehe. Love ya back . . . LOTS!

Even if your house could use work, you can take comfort that you at least have a roof over your head. You'll eventually get it all done. Sometimes the journey is more important than getting there.

Actually, Rune, I am very blessed. I can't afford a roof. The only reason I have one is because of my children. Two years ago, I couldn't have worked on the house. Now, with my improved health, I can. My house and I are in the process of overcoming years of neglect, and I have no-one to blame for that but myself. The good thing is, now I can do it and I am thankful for that every day. You're right. In this case, the journey is sort of a right of passage. Thanks for stopping by!
