Each day is a challenge when it comes to lifestyle change. I'm wishing for a solution to help me get off my lazy butt. I'm just a natural "sitter" or "recliner" and that type of lifestyle can't win in the lose weight battle. If given a choice to sit or stand, I always sit. These types of physical body changes, probably are the most difficult for me. I'm just a relaxer by choice, but I've been practicing it so long, it's one of the hardest obstacles holding me back. There's gotta be something out there that creates miracle energy to get me off this thing!!!

Fitbit! I can't recommend this enough. The new alta sends you reminders to get up every hour to reach a mini goal of 250 steps. Gets you off your chair for a bit throughout the day. Very helpful.

Interesting, I've been seeing the ads and my friend sports one too...I might ask for one for my Mother's Day gift! Thanks for a solution!

Welcome :D I'm actually replacing mine today for the new one... I have 4 models, I tend to float through models because I love to upgrade my stuff LOL.

I love my Fitbit Charge. It is a great motivator. Mine is showing me I have climbed 28 flights of stairs today. I need to do two more flights, before bed time, to reach my target of 30 flights a day. And it is a stylish watch.

I was too and then dh got me an Apple Watch that I use for activity tracking. Before I started hammer n chisel I went for 10000 steps a day. It reminds me to stand up and a goal for 12 hours of standing. 460 cal goal and 30 mins excerise goal. I would walk run whatever around the house all day just to get my steps. I stopped watching soaps and playing internet games. Just gotta do it.

On my wish list is a new alta...I currently use the fit flex, but it doesn't give reminders, and I missed one hour today because I lost track of time.

For anyone planning on getting a new fitbit - they have them at Bed Bath & Beyond and you can use the 20% coupon! I'm not sure if they have the Alta in the local stores yet but they are available online.

Love this info! I'm having difficulty with the motivation to. Some days I want to exercise and other days I bottom out. Maybe the Fitbit would help.

It really sounds like the Fitbit is helping people get up of their butts and move! I wonder if it would work on my motivation levels too?

I can't afford a fitbit right now so my motivation is wanting a fitbutt 😉 #thestruggleisnotfictitious

As a heads up for Canadians, the 20% off coupon at Bed Bath and Beyond does NOT apply to fitbits. Tried it today, but did get 10% off at sport check! It is addictive motivation when you have other people with you! I added all my office coworkers and we have a little battle going on

I think moving is important, but weight loss is mainly what you eat. I would choose one thing to start with, either moving or changing your eating patterns, but maybe trying to both at the same time is exercising your willpower too much. We only have a finite amount of willpower, so you have to be careful if you're trying to spend it all. :) Good luck!

That's fine advise but I have changed my food I can only eat certain things .I had stomach surgy and now all my foot that I like I'm finding it hard to eat I love my veggs and fruits and I have to cook everything I eat .so that is hard to do when u want a crunch once and a while .but thinks for your thoughts I'm not giving up I'll ke r p trying until I get it right thanks a bushel .I have lost 5 lbs so far .

I agree with Asarver. If you just work on the food issues, then you may find you have more energy for moving around once some weight has come off. It's easier to make one change at a time and when that change becomes a habit, then start on the next thing.

Ahhh but you lose so much faster when you do both Asarver. I would have started walking a lot sooner had I only had clothes I still fit in that were suitable for being out in public. I legit fit in nothing but elastic waist jammies.😕 It took me like a month and a half before I could fit in and zip up my fattest fat pants. Now that I'm moving and tracking food, the weight is melting off. I only wish I was able to do it sooner.

Dang it.. I meant to add in that my loss before moving was slooooooow. It took a month and a half to lose 10 lbs. When I did Atkins years back the weight melted off... but this time it was at a snails pace. I felt very discouraged. Years ago I was working, so that meant I was walking all day. This time my diet was the same, but I wasn't moving at all. Now that I move a little every day it's more like it was last time I went low carb.

I have been LCHF, calorie restricted, and IF for over a year and have tons of energy. In the past when I tried to lose weight I was tired and so low energy. I really think the "HIGH FAT" part is what finally did it for me...
