I have a question I would like your input on FS friends. Do you think eating a half cup of Brazil nuts is dangerous? I've been doing 1/4 on Sat but trying to up my calories . I'm thinking about adding pecans and Almonds but wondering if a 1/4 or half of each would be bad for me. it's alo of calories but so far it hasn't caused me to gain but adding extra may. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

As long as you’re measuring and paying attention, it’s worth experimenting. Nuts “butter me up” quickly. I have to measure out a single serving and put the container away or it’s a guaranteed gain.

I'm not sure about the gaining weight factor, but eating more than a small amount of Brazil nuts a day can cause toxicity of selenium. This may be over a period of time, and how often you consume most likely. "Eating Brazil nuts may reduce inflammation, support brain function, and improve your thyroid function and heart health. To avoid consuming too much selenium, limit your intake to one to three Brazil nuts per day." I wouldn't think nuts would cause extra weight gain unless you feel extra heavy and bloated/inflamed after eating.
