This morning I did:
Funk Roberts - 30 Minute Total Body Dumbbell Shred Workout

Followed by:
Studio Jibby - 5 MIN FULL BODY COOL DOWN STRETCHES || POST- WORKOUT FOR FLEXIBILITY || DO THIS AFTER EVERY WORKOUT

Great workout, but of course I substituted some alternate single leg romanian deadlifts when he did burpees and I also did chest flys on my back when he did the bent over reverse version - I don't think I could handle that with 6.5kg weights. Something I noticed is he says to have the dumbbells over your eyes for the chest press and I've learned to do them over the shoulder/chest area - not over your head/face - so I'll keep doing them my way. I usually have the volume turned down low anyway and just follow along, but I think I should maybe turn captions on or turn the volume up sometimes because I'm sure he might be quite fun to listen to as well.

On the cool down I was not prepared to press my sweaty arms against the walls so I stayed on my mat and just kinda did a version on the floor. Otherwise great stretch!

Last night we went to the Meetup pub quiz again so that included a half hour walk. We just can't seem to get higher than 16 out of 25 no matter how hard we try - but, it's fun anyway. The free chip butty always ruins my calories for the day and I topped that with 2 x 500ml ciders as well. I just can't resist hot chips and soft white slices of bread so I'll just have to balance it out for the day or week.

Last week my daily average was 1835, which is actually so much better than the previous weeks, which were all hovering around 2100. I think from the second week of June I can try to get that down further to 1700 where I know I'll see much more progress and I might employ some 16:8 IF again to reach it as well. But, I'll try to stay focused for this last week of May too.

Hope you're all having a Terrific Tuesday! xxx

Makes sense about the chest press. I think arms should finish up vertical so dunno how balancing dumbbells above your eyes is ever a good idea? But I also think things like skullcrushers are a really bad idea so probably I'm just a wimp. Could you maybe wear earbuds as a way of enjoying your workouts at full volume if you feel like it?

I agree about the chest press, Bearwood. And skullcrushers are a bit precarious so I'm always careful to be comfortable with whatever weight I'm using because I don't want to smash my face or end up crashing the weight to the floor above my head either, which feels like could happen sometimes. My earphones just packed up so I'm in the process of looking for some new ones so knowing how long I take to 'research' these things (meaning procrastinate and not get around to buying some...) it could be well into June before I get a new set. That's a great idea though and another reason I think I'll look for wireless ones again. I have a problem with some of them hurting my ears in the past so I'm quite fussy unfortunately. Hope you have a great day! :)

I hope your search for suitable earphones is successful. I think some are sold with multiple sizes of earpiece so you have a better chance of getting a good fit. I got so fed up with my earphones popping out in the middle of push-ups that I gave up in the end and now I just try to ignore the awful "music" they play at my gym, as if we don't suffer enough already.

I've been told when doing the bench press or chest press, you need to stretch your neck as far upwards as you can go, this straightens your body out and you actually are pushing with your chest muscles and less so with your shoulders. You can actually lift more this way. I tried it, it works, going from one upper body session to the next a few days later I found it was noticeably easier to get the 10 reps in. I'm benching 106.3kg last time I was there, which is now basically my current weight. Try it!

Regarding headphones, a lot of headphones come with different size buds. If the buds pop out often, use the other size ones they have in the pack some come with 2 or even 3 sizes.

Yup, PW - I try to avoid cleaning sweat off things as much as possible.🤣😀 I used to use a stand fan facing me directly to keep cool, but I don't have one right now. All hail the sweat towel!💪👍💕

Thanks Bearwood! I'll have a look out for them. I thought I might try something that fits over the ear so I don't have to worry about the bud popping out, but three different sizes sounds like it might do the trick. Oh no - I can just imagine the awful gym music - I love being able to turn it down. Glad you can tune them out. Enjoy your workouts!💪👍

legendary, I'll try that next time - thanks! Benching your weight - impressive!💪👍 I'll have to see about the pods - as mentioned I might opt for an over ear kind of shape - whatever the term is..., but thanks for the info! I will look into it.
