Desire to quit is stronger then the addiction.

"Live NOW as you desire to be for you are full received in the future" -Ghandi

My Father is struggling to overcome a huge obstacle in his life. He quit smoking on May 1st 2011 and he started smoking in 1940. He is trying to break a 70 year habit. If anyone can pull this off he can. He is the most skilled "live in the moment" person that I have known. He teaches the world to play yet takes care of business at hand, keeps busy and is a very generous kind hearted man.

I have seen him try to quit a few times in the past but the nicotine has a very strong hold. I am proud that he has three days of freedom even if that is as far as he can go. Three days is better then nothing and is proof that it is possible. I pray he finds the strength and determination to allow for more days and that his desire to quit is stronger then the addiction. We all have the freedom to breakaway our ties. The impossible really isn't impossible as long as their is a breath in your body. TOWANDA!!!!

Lisa, lifting your Dad in prayer this morning. May God give him strength when he feels he is lacking. May he give him Peace when he feels he needs it. And may he give him Love - for loving himself with such an awesome gift! God Bless him! much Love.

I just came back from the gym and snuck into my dads home while he was in the back of the house and wrote this note, "Dear Daddy, I just came by to say I love you and that you are the strongest person I know." I am not sure what triggered his desire to quit and how strong it is to do so but can only say that if anybody can beat a 70 year addiction it is my daddy. If not, I understand because changing isn't easy as the desire to leave something behind has to be stronger then the desire to keep it. I am truly at awe for the three days that he did as that was something in itself! TOWANDA!!!!!!!!!!
