Nikina70's Journal, 18 Mar 22

This week tracking calories has not been great at all and work has been busy in spurts, but manageable. There were just other life stresses that got me down. No workouts at all, but I did somehow manage to go for a walk every day - the weather's been great lately. I've set a small target of hitting 5000 steps so it's been good to hit that almost every day this week. That is about an hour spent out, which I can usually manage after work and before dinner time. Will also be great when the clocks change and I'll be able to go after dinner as well. Theoretically I could then fit in a strength workout either early in the morning or after my walk, but we'll see how that goes.

Yesterday hubby and I did 11720 steps on a walk around the local park with some friends. Yes, I had a chai latte at a coffee shop and, yes, we bought one of those tiny chocolate cakes from Sainsbury's to have this week - but it could have been far worse. At least some of our meals were healthy, but I decided to have some things I just felt like - still tracked it all though.

I was too tired to go to the stitch & bitch thing last night. Just thought I wouldn't be good company at all so instead I set my alarm and napped for about 40 minutes when I should have been leaving to go. Hoping I'll be in a better headspace next week.

Still feel tired and mentally drained today. Will try to get some work done so it doesn't carry over to the weekend and will try to just loosen some of the tension in my shoulders somehow. I might try some stretching or yoga. I'm hoping we can get out for a good walk one day this weekend as well although we might have a new boiler installed on Saturday. I think once it's done I'll celebrate with a nice long bubble bath.

Celebrate the little victories! For me this week it was walking 6 days out of the 7 and not going too crazy when I felt like having some cake and such. And I enjoyed them both. They were the small respite to my otherwise very taxing days.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend! xxx

Have a good weekend. Hopefully the warmer weather will help lift your spirits and banish the fog. I’m going to spend most of this weekend catching up on work deadlines I’m slightly behind on. I usually resent using my time off for catching up, but it’ll set me up for a better week. Well done for logging the calories…I find it helps to keep an eye even if over target xx

Thanks Suma! I'm actually catching up on some work this weekend too. And the plumber is on his way to fit the new boiler so not sure how disruptive that will be, but as long as it's done today I'll be happy. Will hopefully get out a bit tomorrow then. Hope you get some time to relax too! Yes, sometimes I just want to give up on tracking, but I'll try to keep going this weekend. Might have a little break at month end. Sending you some sunshine!☀️💕
