My knee is visibly swollen today and hurting. I am so discouraged. I don't even know what I did other than edging my flower gardens the other day, which is sort of an unusual movement. I stood on my not great leg while stomping the edger with my good leg. Maybe I was twisting? I don't know how I can lift heavy and also walk a brisk 10 miles regularly with no problems and now... GRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Here is a dark red rose for Nikina70! The truest color is in the first picture, but the striping of red on red is a bit more visible in the other more washed out picture. My darn camera hates to focus properly on anything red. The reds are like cranberry and dark cherry... Well, that is the best I can describe them anyway.

Sorry about your knee I totally can relate. Rest is the best thing you can do , even though it’s frustrating . My Wife has to dart me to stay still most days 🤣 so it’s hard for me to rest but when the knee gets tweaked that’s about the only thing that slows me down. Elevating, ice or heat which ever feels better for your injury and rest. You’ll be up and running in no time 😊🌈🦋🌻

Melissa, I did some bob & brad videos myself last night due to an achy calf. you know RICE, but you need to figure out your rehab and when to ask others to do things for you in the yard. signed, a chronic idiot

Kat, Melissa isn't familiar with the Asking For Help method, but she is an expect when it comes to the Helping Others method No offense Sweet Melissa, but I think we all know you're a Giver, with a capital G. 💕 Take care if yourself.

Thanks so much for your kind comments about both my roses and my darn knee. 😁 ❤️ This morning I requested an updated referral to get back to the sports med doc. Maybe... I'll get some more answers and help. I really appreciate the understanding as I whine and gripe. I KNOW you understand!

Kat, I love your Bob and Brad. I wish they could help. It seemed so simple when they "told" me what to do, but... Months later it hasn't resolved. You are seriously one to talk about asking for help and not doing things yourself... Yep, you are an expert, dear! ❤️ Do as I say not as I do? 😁 Becky, thank you! You are sweet! We need to all know our limits at a given time and ask for help. For me some stuff can just not get done, and that is OK. I am just about to head to the gym and work my upper body. I will be so careful!

Peak hypocrisy, right? Delivered with love though. I slept with the TENS pads on my calf last night. Turned that sucker on every time I woke up. Feels better, still not sure whether the swimming or the walking aggravated whatever is angry with me. 😝😝😝

I'm so sorry, Kat. Isn't it frustrating to do the same things as we always do and get troubles? What a pain not being 20 anymore... I will try to take care. You too! ❤️

After the accident I just assumed it would recover. It just got worse. Even w/ miniscus surgery it's still painful. Sometimes numb too, I'll take that over pain tho. I saw so many doctors. I think some of them were just guessing, or hoped I would give up. Many of them would say, "The knee is very complex." DUH. As if that would satisfy me. They ALL said, "Just don't use it." As if that was so simple an action or decision! It's a knee! We use it for a lot of stuff! And to give up running, the only thing that really helped me cope in life! I was resistant, but realized if I want to walk without a limp or brace I better adapt. I'm amazed that riding does not hurt. After a lot of use it is stiff, but not the horrible pain and no need for steroid shots or removal of the fluid by syringe. (Fingers crossed, I don't want to jinx myself) If I ride up steep hills it does bother me, but it has never swollen up to the point that it is 'rusted shut' like it would do when running. No more squats or lunges for me. Swimming over winter fills my time, and the Elliptical, on high resistance, is great cardio, as close to running as I've so far found. But it is so mind numbing standing in same spot looking at the same freaking house and same boring tree. The machine I use is a PROFORM, you can adjust the stride which is what makes me favor it over the other machines. I can't beleive how much I love outdoor biking. It's like a mini 'health vacation' every time I pedal down the street. It does take more planning ahead than taking a jog. But it's worth it. But nothing compares to the feeling of freedom you get from a running high. Yesterday I rode up a hill and my legs quit, almost at the peak, and I was so angry I had to dismount and push the bike up the last bit, remount, then finish the hill. It's so different then running. I will go back and conquer that hill. But I'm in MUCH better physical condition now then I've EVER been. Biking gear is more expensive, but if it's for your physical and mental health, it's worth it! So many pros and cons! Start small, ride as much, or as little as you can to see where it will lead you. I hope you recover soon!

I'm sorry your knee is hurting. Getting a Dr.'s opinion sounds like a good idea. It sucks to have limitations on our activities due to pain. Beautiful roses🌹🥀😁

My knees were bad before I lost weight! Now, not at all. Most horrible pain. Hope you find answers about this issue. Keep me posted. Praying for your recovery. 🌹❤️

Beauxpurdy, what a battle you have fought to reach where you are today. I am endlessly impressed with your tenacious work to get I to and then keep in shape while dealing with all you've endured. I hope to find a solution to my knee problems, but just reading your message also gives me hope that change doesn't have to be loss exactly. I've missed running so much. If I have to alter again... I will and not give up!

Also, Beauxpurdy, I'd need to figure out a way to get to a bike to a safe place to ride, but, that might be my future for sure. I hate, hate, hate cardio in a gym... Just shoot me if I have to do it for more than 20 minutes! I did see someone with that elliptical thing you once mentioned for trails. It was a first for me and I wanted to flag him down a and ask questions and say my friend had told me about it! I think I could easily put such a thing in my trunk for getting to the trail. I'm dreaming! 😁 Anyway, thank you again for sharing your journey and how it has changed. You are a fighter, girl, and I'm tremendously impressed. I'm so glad you have found a way to find freedom and fitness!

Thank you, SherryeB, Erquiaga, and caraken! Three ladies, I really appreciate so much! I will return to the sports med doc... Maybe there will be more tests and investigation. I dread the cost... My deductible is very high, so I know it will be thousands of dollars once they get started. But... I hate the not knowing and not being sure I'm doing the right things. But. What has been said and the treatments in the past didn't help much either... Gosh, it is hard to trust and hard to know what to do!

Thanks, Siegels! I kinda love that you like the flowers! 😁 Your advice is what I did today. Normally I do full body, but today I poured everything into upper. I'm wiped out! Hahah! But the old veins are popping and I can barely lift my arms. Now I'm sitting here with the old leg up and icing the knee. I'm delighted I have a day off work! I'm gonna be lazy! 😁
