Johanne's Journal, 02 Feb 11

Wow! I just came back in. It's quite beautiful out there but wicked cold. We got 14" yesterday. My neighbor dug out my door so I could get out, finally. The drifts are car high. I got some pictures before and after the plow. There's almost no snow on the roofs or the cars because of the wind. I'm ready for spring . . . BIG TIME!

I'm trying to Bren. I went out for about 15 min. to shoot some pictures and when my fingers and nose started to tingle, I scooted back in. LOL! Snow, snow, go away! Don't come again some other day!!! :-)

I would love to see your snow pics! I hope you thaw out soon. That kind of cold is brutal! Any notion I have of moving north of here is dispelled when I hear about this kind of weather.

LOL! Coco, I can't download my camera until I can get to Wally World. My computer doesn't have a card reader. As soon as I can get there, I'll post a few. I found this, this morning. "The groundhog popped up, and before he could even draw breath, I had my hand over his mouth. I let him see the knife. I then said very carefully, 'You didn't see a THING this morning, right?' Quietly he nodded and slipped back down into his hole." -Peter Vinton. I hope we have an early spring!!!

Well there are only 40 some days until spring my dear, I am sure if we make snow forts it will go faster! Its always nice to hear of a neighbor that is kind enough to help out after something like that! Stay warm!

I'm trying to Pixi. My neighbor is a doll. She also takes me to the store when she's headed that direction. Snow forts. Hmmmmm! Maybe igloos would be more effective if this winter keeps going. We have more snow in the forecast, Sunday and Monday, with no thaw between now and then. We're supposed to get to -20F tonight. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!! This is Missouri, for Pete's sake, not the Arctic tundra!

Oh burrr you would think you lived here with me!!! Igloos would be good yes,you neighbor sounds an awful lot like the couple that lives beside my gramma they always make sure she is ok if it snows lots or if they don't see her for a couple days. its always nice to know there is someone around.

Jo, it is so stinkin' cold out there! I am glad that you have a neighbor that check in on you and that will help you out. There really are some nice people in this world!

I'm the grammy, pixi, yes. She just turned 50, so she's a lot more spry than I. LOL! Steph, I'm very lucky to have her. It's wicked outside. My critters and I are getting ready to snuggle down for the night. My eating is back on track, so I guess it really was pre-storm jitters. Quite a few roofs did cave in, but mine is still intact. I have no idea where that fear came from. Everyone who has been effected by this storm, please stay warm and safe. We have another one coming along behind, but of much more reasonable proportions. Hurry spring. I can't wait!

Jo, our weathermen are being very conservative since they missed the mark so badly for St. Louis, but the graphics they are looking a bit more intense than a few flurries. We shall see. Glad that you are safe and warm and that the fur babies are all doing well. I think my cravings were pre-storm jitters also. Things are better now. Hope the rest of your week is wonderful!
