Taste testing beautiful, crisp, delicious, Washington apples. I am having my family decide, so I can return to the fruit stand and buy a box! So far the Jonagolds are winning! This huge visitor to my feeder this morning is so lovely! A Pileated woodpecker can be 19 inches tall with a wingspan of nearly a yard. This guy is incredibly massive! I think I shall call him Dino, since he looks like he belongs with the pterodactyls.

Apple tasting is so much fun, and I love that you named the woodpecker!!! We have named birds in our yard before too! Dino is a great name! How fun!!!

Thank you br_e_co! I'm sure trying to keep working on my fitness. How changed I feel in ever way from a couple years ago. Never going back!!! Bearnoggin!! I absolutely love "my" birds! I actually just posted Dino again with a couple of "my" other yard pets, so his size difference can be seen. He is so crazy huge!!! I have a strange little, almost white chickadee I call Grandpa. He looks like he fell into a bin of flour! He seems perfectly happy and healthy, but he sure looks unique!
