My motto used to be, "I only run if I'm being chased."

Today I ran up that hill.
It wasn't pretty. I thought I was dying.
(I legitimately thought I was dying for a minute. "It wasn't pretty" means that I gasped and wheezed my way through this.)

But I did it.

And I'll do it again.

Melissa - from the base of the hill to the top where the aqueduct is 2762ft elevation to 2972ft. A lot of the incline is more gradual and gentle. And then you have this portion. I've cheerfully nicknamed it 'Hell" in my head. Thank you for the encouragement!

Wonderful thing about running uphill is the low impact workout that really works the behind! 😁 And what a workout you're doing!!! My typical run has a bit over 300 foot elevation gain, but it also has shade, downhill times (a few really steep downhill parts I must slow to a walk for my knees), and it doesn't look nearly as cool... Or hot! I honestly envy your access to this bit of "hell!" what a super challenge!

Oh and my route stretches that elevation gain out over miles so isn't really all that intense except in a few places. Keep us updated on your feeling less like perishing as you toil up this track! 😁

I am sore in exactly those places. 😂 I went again today. I'm not going to say this doesn't suck. It sucks so much and I hate every single second of it. My inner dialogue is mostly, "You are an asshole. Why are you like this?" Because I, perversely, chose the one thing that I hate the most. But I've really enjoyed it. I'm going to have to take the next two days off and I'm really kind of sad about it.

It’s easier for me to go uphill versus downhill. Which is crazy, but is what it is.

Katsolo - I understand that. The incline that I'm going down is so steep that I'm a little more comfortable going up than down.
