I figure if I stick to it, keep honest about what I'm eating, I've got ~ 6 months or thereabouts to get rid of the weight. Perfect timing right around holidays. YUP.

Got swelling in the feet and don't know what I did differently (actually, nothing) for food intake unless this is an accumulation over the past few days of BBQ chicken/leftovers. The scale will tell all tomorrow or the next day. Enough swelling (edema) to say hmm.. that's at least 2 pounds.

Salt free diets don't work for me, nooo, not until a doctor in some ICU says... you need to have a salt free diet... at which time I will be thinking... WHO ARE YOU? My cholesterol is fantastic, not a diabetic, resting heart rate is 60, BP is almost always 110/70. Exercise...<cough> did you say... exercise? OH, that. Well, I did stretches (with my yawns). Does that count?

Because of the gain and reading more on why old folks need more protein, I thought, well gosh. I need to get protein powder or something. We don't eat eggs every morning or meat twice a day. Maybe once a day. So my bright idea was to get SlimFast and then have a good healthy protein-lean meal because face it guys, at my age cooking is truly more a chore and the kids can cook. If only they cooked for us... but I digress.

So far, so good. Twice a day, 1/2 cup 1%, 1 cup blueberries, 1 cup strawberries, protein powder (vanilla) and bizzzzzzzz in the blender. Satisfies hunger and cravings for sweets/ice cream etc. I tried the chocolate with a banana and meh, it was okay. I kept thinking, needs to be reallly cold and add a crushed coffee bean or two and... well that would keep me going but, current crush is on the berry smoothies.

Now I need to 1. get motivated 2. get the APPROPRIATE exercise 3. Not give up after three days of a slow start 4. get lazy... and see? there it is. I forgot number 5. Sigh.

Lost 2 dress sizes. YAY (er pant sizes)
So, I've noticed for me that the only time anyone notices that I've lost weight is when I hit thirty pounds.
