FullaBella's Journal, 13 Jan 13

(To be read in a Mr. Roger's Neighborhood voice) Hello Neighbors ~ can you say negative reinforcement? Betcha can ~ give it a try ~ verrrry good.' (Okay, enough of that voice)

So after two weeks of defying the scientific theory of 'calories burned greater than calories consumed equates to weight loss' I decided to increase my healthy food portions to add an extra 400-500 cals a day in attempt to move little Ms. Metabolism off her butt.

However, as I can only chew so many fresh veggies a day and still be able to babble endlessly to my poor husband I needed the boost another way so I increased the lean proteins (tuna, salmon, egg whites).

Additionally, after over three straight weeks of treadmill twice a day, I decided I had my habit firmly fixed in place to test taking the weekends off and give my body a break. I applaud all of you who hit the gyms 7 days a week but I was actually in pain.

So 'lo and behold ~ go figure the irony of a FIVE POUND weight loss overnight! And yes, like many of my buddies here I stepped on and off that scale several times. Twenty-seven, I think.....

Yes, I know MOST of that was water (considering I floated into 'le bathroom about 3am and staggered out a half hour later ~ I may have fallen asleep on 'le throne...) and I won't tempt the FS gods by recording it until it sustains the 72 hour 'Bella Rule' but wowza did it look nice to see that dang red needle move (and not go up!)

So I slept late (first time in a month). Nice. And on waking, wondering if it had all been a dream, stepped on the scale again. Nope, still there.

Making breakfast for MH - a porterhouse steak, country fries and eggs sunny side up - I had a silly thought .. 'gee, if all that brings on a 5lb loss, what would happen if I dove face first into those fried potatoes... you know.. for the good of this experiement...'

But ironically (or thankfully - you choose the adverb) the thought of it really wasn't that palatable. I nibbled a couple of bites of the potatoes and felt overwhelmed with the desire to scrape my tongue (oil!). So, oatmeal, blueberries and yogurt and I was a happy gal. I'm planning to have an egg white omlet with canadian bacon for dinner.

I started my CandiGone cleanse today. According to my friend it clears sugar from the system - esp the sugar from processed foods. I tend to think a cleanse is a cleanse but much like the coconut oil I add to my oatmeal, while it may not really help, it can't hurt. Another irony is the instructions 'take twice a day on an empty stomach.' Seriously? Sure, the morning dose would qualify but how long exactly do I have to go between meals before my stomach is empty for the evening dose?

Something to research.

Thank you for reading ~ y'all have a good day.

So pleased for you!!! I am sure if you don't do anything too silly you will maintain the 5lb and continue to lose even more. You really are an inspiration for just sticking at it bella

lol. thanks for the fine print disclaimer. it's so weird when you get a loss seemingly out of nowhere. Over-worked muscles holding water to repair, glycogen stores depleted, dropping a big #2, whatever it maybe be. Just finally seeing some movement improves your mood I bet, (it does mine) and makes it easier to keep up with the healthy eating/exercise.

Soooo happy for you! You should be so proud & it is so deserved! You hung in there with your eating & exercising through many tough days with no movement on that darn scale. You're obviously doing many things right, and your adjustments to your diet & exercising are obviously working! Keep it up, my friend, you inspire us all... And always put a smile on my face with the entertaining way you journal!

Hahaha love the disclaimer. Maybe someday BMW will approve of your methods. Here's hoping that your weight loss "sticks" and continues onward and downward!

woohoo that's brilliant! well done on not giving in to the lure of the fried potatoes, its so easy and so counterproductive to use a loss to justify a treat... but you'll feel so great when you get to record your loss!

That is just amazing! Congrats and keep it up! You are doing so good! You inspire me to keep this up! :D

Awesome - 5 lbs. gone forever I bet! Your journal gave me a smile this morning. Thanks! I have to take a thyroid pill on an empty stomach so I take it in the middle of the night when I get up to pee. Other wise I think my internet research turned up about 4 hrs. to produce an empty stomach. Hope that saves you a minute or 2. :)

But wait! There's more! lol...you forgot the MSRP (manufacturer's suggested retail price), hee hee...great journal, Bella! I was visualizing you tasting the taters, and you are SO RIGHT ON about weigh-ins!

::::Whispering::::: well so far, the scale is holding ... one more day and I get to update & weigh in. I'm actually wondering what the FS scale-bot message will be? "Uhhh... 'bout freaking time, Bella'. I am sure I could actually hear it SIGH at me on my previous no-change weigh in ... I know I heard a 'are you really even trying' voice to that 'you haven't changed ... again...' message. I haven't done anything silly, Astrid, not to worry. The whole 'fried potato feast' was joking - I really never liked fried food before ~ as I said, felt like scraping my tongue after two small bites. Thanks everyone for reading and the great comments and your continued support. Happy MONDAY :-)

:::Whispering::: Yay! Hope the scale continues to hold for you.. try not to scare it away!!

Well done FullaBella. Water (and err "solids") retention does cause variances in the scales. Which is why I've been concentrating more on my waist size than my weight. And you ladies get it far worse than us guys. Finger's crossed for tomorrow's weigh-in.
