I basically sucked this past weekend and Monday. Sunday it snowed so much that church was canceled and we stayed inside in front of a fire all day. No exercise. And then we ordered pizza and salad and cheese garlic bread. And I ate it all. And the salad was definitely full of calories, especially from the abundance of provel cheese and Parmesan!
And then Monday after work my husband comes home with four boxes of Girl Scout cookies. Trefoils are my downfall, and I ate half the box. Yes, one whole sleeve of Trefoils in about 15 minutes. I tried one Do-so-do and two Samoa‘s, but I couldn’t stop once I started with the Trefoils. And no exercise on Monday, either. And I finished the last of the pizza, too. After I ate all the Trefoils I got incredibly sleepy from the carb and sugar overload. I knew I’d regret this, and it didn’t take long.
So yesterday my husband and I walked at our Rec-Plex for 40 minutes and got in 2 miles – the longest I’ve done in well over a year and a half. And today I did a mile and a half of walking on my own. Tonight I have the four-year-olds at church, and I get lots of steps in with them. I’m eating clementines right now and trying to drink a lot of water.
Tomorrow I weigh in, and I hope the damage isn’t too great. I don’t know what comes over me when I get into these moods where all I want is carbs and sugar. I am so addicted to both, and I need to figure out a way to stop sabotaging myself just because carbs and sugar become available! Sometimes it’s easy for me to pass them up or just have a small bit like I did on Saturday when I ate a chocolate long John at a church conference we had. But other times three or even four donuts isn’t enough.
I saw on one episode of “My Cat From Hell“ where Jackson Galaxy spoke with the overweight woman whose cat he was helping, and they discussed how they both got “high“ from sugar and carbs and food. And I feel it’s the same way for me, too. But I have read here to just get back on the proverbial horse and keep on keeping on and doing the right thing. So I will...
