Fasting a.m. BS = 164; weight = 172.5
Was shaky yesterday and today - I renewed one of my blood pressure meds late and have missed it a few days, hope it gets here today. But blood pressure this morning was 116/66 which isn't bad, its the pulse at 116 that makes me shaky! We are so dependent on some of these meds!! Would love to be free of them all! Working at the library 10-2 today! Was a slow day, so I got some new books added.
I picked the bell peppers today - I've never had such a good crop. These go in the freezer! My blood pressure med arrived so I took it immediately. Going to eat fried catfish tonight, no fries. Sorry! I ate some of the fries!!! Then mixed up a snack of cream cheese, sour cream, butter, sunflower seeds, and pumpkin spice, trying to balance the carbs. Should have left out the sunflower seeds! Does your insurance company or pharmacy offer automatic prescription refills? I use Walgreen's and they will automatically refill your meds and call, email, or text you when it's ready for pickup. Only thing you need to do is call the doctor's office when you need new one's called in to the pharmacy. Call whichever pharmacy you use and see if they offer this option.

I do mine by mail and they do offer automatic refills. Since my BS got low I have not been renewing on schedule because lots of the time I am able to skip some meds. The blood pressure is not one I can afford to skip however. They do text me to see if I'm ready to renew. I just failed to follow up this time!

Did I read that right... your pulse was 116? Perhaps you should follow-up with your doctor on that. Can definitely see why you were shaky! (sorry... retired nurse here. can't help myself! LOL!) I hope taking your med when it came straightened it all out!

Oh! And you should check out some of the "fat bomb" recipes on the web site "KetoConnect" I have tried probably half of the recipes on that site, and have been pleased with 99% of them. I've added most of my favorites in my cookbook, if you are able to see them... I'm not really sure how that works on this site.

Colquhoun1211, Yes, that was a high pulse rate. My med came that same day and I took it immediately. The shakes were gone in a short time, and the pulse rate was much lower. Next time I will expedite the shipment if I forget to renew on time. I ordered a blood pressure wrist kit so I can take it myself easily when my husband isn't handy. I've lost 15 lbs so my med reactions are different than normal. I'm getting used to the new me while struggling to keep creating the new me.The body seems to react more quickly now than it did, so I'm trying to tune in to the new signals. The sciatic attack seems to have reversed my downward trend on BS too. Have to get that back down quickly. It isn't just simply losing some weight, it's keeping track of the needs of a whole new person. Can't imagine what it will be to actually reach my goal and adjust to that person.

no I think your eating habits have been messing up your blood glucose level but that blood pressure is scarey. I am glad you got your meds in when you needed them. I hope your back feels better soon and you get back on track.

Colquhoun1211 - I think you wanted to know about the turmeric tea. LZenn told me about it: she didn't really measure, just added probably 1/4 tsp per cup of tea with a few dashes of pepper and dollop of coconut oil. xVax makes a paste of powdered turmeric by cooking half a teacup of turmeric with a teacup of water until most of the water is gone. She makes golden milk: 1 tbsp turmeric paste, 200 ml of almond drink, cinnamon, some ginger, black pepper, coconut oil, sweetener. My recipe: 1 tbsp butter melted in 1 cup hot water, 1 scant tsp instant coffee, 1 tbsp cocoa powder, 1 tsp vanilla, 1/4 to 1/2 tsp turmeric powder, sprinkle black pepper, stevia, pumpkin pie spice, 1/3 cup heavy whipping cream. I have tried it as my breakfast for 5 days. Usually by afternoon the sciatic pain has calmed. That is good enough to keep me drinking it! I googled turmeric and found an article about 10 conditions improved by turmeric, including arthritis, kidney disease, cancer, etc. Almost too good to be true, but enough information to keep me using it.

Thank you LZenn! I also bought some turmeric capsules this week end. But the hot drink is a lot more enjoyable than the capsules!!
