Yesterday my friends and I got into a discussion about whether popcorn could be considered a veggie serving. After much debate (fueled by a bit too much wine, which isn't on my healthy eating list), we looked it up. Guess what we discovered? Regular corn isn't a veggie but rather a fruit. What the H...!!!!! That isn't right. Who would put corn into a fruit salad? I will chalk that up to not believing everything you read on the internet.
I hope everyone's day is going well.

I weighed in this morning and was happy to see my weight drop. I've been doing the GOLO thing, mostly. I've been trying not to eat between meals and following the two proteins, one carb, two veggies, and one fat each meal. I haven't been perfect but close each day, and that's how I want to do it. I want to lose and maintain and not go on a strict diet.
I'm bringing my mother to a doctor's appointment today, and I know she'll want to eat out after. Though I usually let her select, today I'm going to steer her to one where I won't go terribly.

Losing 5.3 kg a Week

Survived my first day on the GOLO program. The hardest part for me is not snacking all day. I must be part hobbit because I need about eight tiny meals daily. But I stuck to the 3.5 (splitting my breakfast) and survived. I wasn't hungry between meals, but I'm so used to mindlessly munching while working on my computer or watching TV.

I finally got my GOLO things in the mail, and it took them over a week, which allowed me to delay, delay, delay.
I made my healthy breakfast, packed lunch, and set out something for dinner. The GOLO eating thingie tells you to eat two proteins, one carb, two veggies, and one fat per meal. But there are only three meals, no snacks. I've "adjusted" it a bit because I get up at 3 am and my "lunch" usually is not until 10 am to 11 am. 7 to 8 hours is a bit long to wait to eat. When I've done that in the past, I've been starving and then made a LOT of terrible choices. So I'm going to split my breakfast and eat half before I leave for work and then the other half during my break. Saving one of my boiled eggs and banana for the second breakfast (hobbit time!)
