Losing 3.8 kg a Week
23 February 2014
My young grandson was on vacation with me all week and every time I set up the xBox to get a little exercise in, he'd naturally want to join me. The problem with that is being 8 years old and a whirling bundle of energy to begin with, he chose the activity and turned it into a competition. That being said, I was a loser before we even started and out of breath within 2 minutes! lol
Hopefully today will be different. He went home last night. :)

Losing 1.6 kg a Week

I knew I was close with my estimate of 165, but my shiney, new scale says otherwise.
I guess I could have let it be, but if I'm going to do this, then I'll going to do it right.
My starting weight is: 167.5
I'll consider the last 3 days a trial run.
Let the games begin!

Gaining 0.7 kg a Week
21 February 2014
Not a bad 2nd day, but I was running late for work this morning and didn't pack a snack. I was so hungry by the time I got home that it was a real challenge to not sit at the table with a fork and an entire roasted chicken!
Luckily, I still had some leftover butternut squash soup from yesterday and I quickly added a bit of corn and a some roasted chicken and a bit of chipotle pepper flake. Fast and oh-so-good.
I rewarded my willpower with one corn bread and honestly, I was pretty satisfied.
Lesson learned: Pack a little something for work.
For being such a good Do-bee today I'm rewarding myself with a glass of chilled, white wine.

Hi everyone! I'm not sure how to begin this journal journey, so I'm just going to put it all out there.
I just found this place today and I'm hoping it will keep me focused long enough to make some real changes for myself.I've been skipping around the site and have seen some really encouraging stories and help tips to get me started and with any luck, keep me on track.
I'll be 62 in June and have packed on approximately 40 lbs. in the past year and a half. I'd like to blame it all on the facts that I quit smoking, started a new job, sold my house, got divorced, was in a rear-impact car accident and had shoulder surgery last April ... but I know in my heart that the weight gain was in part to not being able to get out there and walk as I did prior to the car accident, but it had more to do with wine, bread, pasta and my adoration for anything with cheese. And wine. Did I mention wine? And cheese?
My health is great, so I have no excuse to not exercise.None. Zero.Zilch.
Anyway, I'm pretty sure my stated weight is more than the 165 lbs. listed, but that's because I don't have a scale. I know, I know ... I'm picking one up tomorrow and then I'll see if I can change it. But I think 165 lbs. on my 5'0" frame gives you a pretty clear image of what I'm up against.
I DO NOT want to continue to buy size 16 pants and 1X tops.
My plan is to pay myself for lost pounds and bank it so I can afford a "New Me Wardrobe". Of course, if I gain weight at any point, I will have to deduct double.
I hope to be able to contribute recipes, tips and support to the rest of the FatSecret community as I work towards my goal.
If this isn't the right place to be posting this, please let me know; I'd hate to be annoying my first hour here!
