It's been such a traumatic 2 weeks and my heart is still very sore, but healing.

If there is one thing that I am well aware of - Life Happens. I've had to allow things to let go due to circumstances, give more of myself to the family that matter, and everything else took a back seat.

I'm slowly coming to terms with everything, and trying to get back into my routine, and what makes me happy.

Besides the sad message above, I did however spend more time sweating it out, burning the midnight oil and get through it the best way I know.

I've always turned to food in a time of stress. So even under these circumstances, I only gained 500g scale weight. Won't even consider my body fat at this moment because that will just be depressing and that's not fair on me right now.

Was suppose to do a Sprint Triathlon this Sunday, but chose not to do it. I'll be alone with my thoughts for too long, and with the extreme effort that is put into the sport, it won't be fair on me mentally, and I'll probably be one of those people sitting on the side of the road bawling my eyes out. So to be fair to myself, I'll only be running the event with music blaring in my ears to take my mind off things.

Thank goodness for the support from Friends and Hubby. Each of them have been amazing during this time, and have managed to keep me on track (as best they could), until I found the cookie jar.

I'm going to rest and spend some time alone with myself to work through things, come Monday, my Life is back on track.

It's been a while since my last journal entry - and my food diet entries.

It's been a hectic 2 weeks with examinations and weekend sporting events. I'm at a stage of being mentally and physically exhausted but pushing on.

I was comparing my measurements from the 12 week challenge that I participated in at the beginning of the year, and my measurements taken a week ago - at least I've managed to return to that size and weight.

First examinations that I have not had a jelly bean binge. Super proud of myself. But seem to have found comfort in Pineapple pieces and lemon flavoured tea <<-- possibly my new exam time addiction - who knows. The scale has been very kind to me with this new approach, so clearly something is working.

Yeah! on the extension of our 8 week challenge to a 12 week challenge, and I've signed up to an 8 week Ab Challenge as well which is a nice one to use as part of the final 4 weeks of the now 12 week challenge.

On the sporting side, I have 2 swimming events happening in November which are seeding events to Midmar and 1 triathlon left. At least with swimming being my stronger discipline, it will be a race that will at least leave me satisfied, considering my last 2 triathlon events have been shocking.

Next week I will be back full force in the gym. This week my body did not want to function properly.

I'm pretty proud of myself.

I'll be finishing off my 4 week leg challenge this week. Might not be able see the difference, however, based on my Parkrun result on Saturday, I did improve by 1 minute (might not seem much, but when you battle a 1.8km beach run, this is excellent) and achieved a PB. So I'm pretty stoked. I believe I have achieved my objective to build strength in my legs.

Had an overindulgent weekend, one involving a focaccia and a very happy Chantelle - hahaha - Carbs make people happy! I'm happy to report that I am now in my 87kg range. So the high carb day definitely played in my favour.

Another Gold Star moment, I start exams this week, and normally I go on a jelly bean binge. I have not had 1 jelly bean! However, it is 3 weeks of examinations and finishing off this qualification once and for all - so the pressure and stress is on! This is where my self-discipline will be tested.

Third Sprint Triathlon happening this Sunday - I'm really hoping that my extra efforts will pay off - even if it is 1 minute improvement on my overall time. I've especially spent more time on the bicycle, so hoping this is where I will show my improvement.
