Interesting observation from yesterday: we were at daughter #2's cheer competition at a convention center that was also hosting a dance competition. At cheer competitions, the food vendors generally have the usual arena junk food but also offer healthier options like fruit cups or hummus. At the dance competition, there were no food vendors at all, even though the event was running from 7am-11pm. I'm hoping that was a reflection of a schedule that allows participants and families to come and go, and not indicative of the culture of anorexia that I thought the dance world had largely overcome. Any insight from dancers or dance families out there?

Trying to calm my stomach during a migraine resulted in a carb explosion today: English muffin at breakfast, another one at lunch, bagel in the afternoon. But I took my medication as soon as I got home, had a nap and now the headache is gone and I feel human again. Thank you carbs and Relpax.

Had one day of eating really poorly, one day of eating kind-of poorly, but stayed 100% on plan the other days. Most importantly, exceeded my exercise goal, which helped make up for my nutritional slips. With less than two months until our next Disney vacation, my short-term goal is to keep working my plan diligently until then and feel comfortable in a bathing suit in public for the first time in a long time. This goal is for my younger daughter as much as it is for me. She loves being in the pool but I know she loves it even more when we do it as a whole family. With daughter #1 heading to college this fall, this might be the last spring vacation for all four of us for a while. Daughter #1 and I have both pledged to hubby and daughter #2 that we will join them in the pool this year.

Perfect storm of hormones, disappointing news at the dentist about my hoped-for implant, and a migraine led to a binge on ice cream and potato chips. And the ice cream didn't even taste good. If I had stuck to my plan for the day instead, I would have only had some really tasty, healthy food. Going to work out with my daughter now, then have some water and declare myself back on track and moving forward.
