Transitioning the Christmas decor out and the winter decor in... From maximalist to minimalist again. Going to the gym later. Eating only when hungry. yada, yada, yada. The kids ditched us for their friends last night. We started watching a movie but I fell asleep at 10. Got a second wind and fell asleep at 11:40 pm. David said Happy New Year at 12:02- so either way I missed it... technically.
Unsure if anyone recalls but in 2020, my mom had knee replacement surgery- The same day, my father was having open heart surgery in Milwaukee. I don't expect anyone to remember but anyhow- my mom's knee plate shifted off or knee cap or whatever and it has been this was since about 6-7 months after the original surgery. On Thursday, she will be having revision surgery. She is 71 and overweight and we are both nervous about it. At this point, she is unable to walk any length at all. Even the handicapped spots are too far away and she is in pain so we are just going for it. It is kinda her last hope. For being overweight, she doesn't have any serious health issues yet so I am hopeful that regaining some mobility will encourage her to get healthy. I am praying she has at least 10 more years with us. I'm on day 3... I spotted some mini reese's peanut butter cups that I had left over from sprinkling on a PB pie I made. So far, I have avoided them, I hope to regain some composure and be able to eat what I love on occasion and in moderation- the way I used to- However, day 3 is not the time to try it. Happy New Year, all!

Well- there it is.🙈 I didn't want to post it even though I weigh daily but as always I think- why would I be on a calorie counting site to get healthy if I am too embarrassed to post. I don't know these people. So- paying some bills online and going to the gym- then going to the grocery store now that I have eaten every unhealthy thing in the house to get some decent options. My back hurts, my knee hurts, my ankles hurt from trying to support so much weight again. My clothes don't fit. I'm down to 2 pairs of jeans that I had to buy and neither is flattering. I am living in oversized sweatshirts (which actually has always been my style so that's a bit dramatic to write.🙂) I'm winded going up the steps. My skin looks worse (I think- not sure). Only beach towels fit around me when I get out of the shower. I could go on and on- but like I said- I have to get to the gym. Mostly I am just embarrassed. Embarrassed of posting on here, embarrassed of running into people I haven't seen in awhile, embarrassed to go to the gym and be the fat girl who is just in the way. But I am also hopeful. I expect to lose 4-5 pounds overnight as my body goes into shock from not having 3-4K calories today and then it will slow and the real test will begin. So... Yep- that's me. I should update my profile pic but why punish myself further. Wish me luck. ❤️, Sara. No H.
