Johanne's Journal, 27 Jan 12

Sorry I've been absent. It's Friday!!!

The past few weeks have been a bit rough. It's been one week since my gall bladder attack and so far, so good. Eliminating most fat seems to be doing the trick. Last night I went to my SCA meeting. I had no idea how many of my friends, some of them very young, had their gall bladders out.

After hearing some of their horror stories of putting the surgery off and all of the stories from my buddies on here, I've decided if the surgeon recommends removal on Mon, I will have it done. I got scared when I read the stories about the after effects on the internet, but, apparently, Bren was right. This is mostly griping and fear mongering.

Everyone I've talked to, in real life and on here, has said that they were SO HAPPY to be gall bladder free and they might have problems with a few foods, but for the most part could eat as they did before. Since I have already modified my diet so much over the last few years, I shouldn't have that much of a problem after the first few months post op.

Of course, now I'm so behind on everything. Catching up is going to be a bit hard. I started on it today. Wish me luck. Hugs!!!

(Oh! And I have to stop sleeping so much. I had no idea how much I slept until I got the fitbit. LOL!)

Thanks Sazy. I am feeling better about it. I'm also feeling much more impelled to go through with it after hearing several of my friends horror stories about waiting too long. Once you develop stones, it's just better to do the surgery, just in case. Thanks for dropping by. Love you back!
