Note to self : When making overnight oats with milk and the 2L bottle of milk is gone off the next morning then the milk that I used in the jar to soak my oats is also gone off!!! LOL! I knew that odour from the soaked oats wasn't right but silly me ended up eating it anyway because I thought it was just the yoghurt giving me a sour taste and only last night did I realise that the 2L bottle of milk was gone off when my sister took it to make coffee!!

My Thursday consumption was really high at over 3000 calories(133% of my RDI). It was just one of those days that I wanted to enjoy my eating. It was a high carb day for me anyway.

Have a good weekend everyone :D

hey BBO... on the oats... having a debate here.... some people say Bokomo is better than Jungle... your thoughts (standard, normal without the flavours type)

Tanya in terms of calories, all plain rolled oats should be the same nutritional value irrespective of brand. I'm buying oats from my local spice shop at half the price that I pay for normal jungle oats but I record it as jungle oats in my food diary. I use the small flake or the large flake oats. I dont use the instant or flavored oats. I'm not sure if they add sugar to the flavoured ones or not. I guess it comes down to personal preference and the calorie content. Also be aware that oats in general are naturally wheat free but you pay more for gluten-free oats and all they do is ensure that they store and package oats in a separate facility to ensure there's no cross contamination of wheat flour being in the air and settling on the oats that may be in the same factory. There's no process to make oats gluten free, just the practice of keeping them away from wheat product manufacturing to prevent the cross contamination.
