This may sound strange, but I've fallen in love with home made sauerkraut/kimchi and gari, and it really seems to be making a weight loss difference. These are "feel good" foods. Yes, they have salt (highest of any of my recipes has 1 tbsp finely ground seasalt or pink salt/quart) but I find that I am HAPPY and bubbly, and joking like I used to be, and not seeming to suffer the hungries, even when I am not eating as much as the RDA, or didn't get enough sleep, IF I am eating 1/2 cup to a cup a day, (1 cup of sauerkraut at max, with the juice would give me .25 tbsp salt, 2300 grams of salt in a tablespoon * .25 = 575 grams of salt, max. Skip the fermented foods and wham! Here come the munchies, of the worst kind... Might help someone else too.
