Doctor confirms strep. Made a housecall and brought an Rx for antibiotics "just in case". He's an angel.

Unfortunately, he also confirmed I'm already almost doing everything I can to alleviate symptoms, except for two things. He recommended that for a couple days, based on MY VERY SPECIFIC, UNIQUE AND WELL STUDIED METABOLISM, BLOOD WORK, AND CURRENT OVERALL HEALTH STATUS AND MONITORING SITUATION (i.e. any of you try this at home without asking your own doctors and I'll come over there and slap you) I can increase the dosage of the OTC cold meds I'm taking slightly over what's recommended on the package. And he also suggested a hot alcoholic beverage. Seriously. Like Hot Buttered Rum, made with honey replacing some of the brown sugar.

There goes my ketosis, as per doctors orders. But then, both he and I were only okay with this dramatic weight loss because it had gone on very quickly (45 pounds in 4 months) due to some medical conditions last summer that have now passed, and I was in good health, but still getting close monitoring from him, so adding bloodwork to check my nutrient levels every couple weeks wasn't a big deal. The situation has changed, I am not currently healthy. I will be able to restart the dramatic weight loss once I have regained my overall physical health. And it's not like a liquid diet, even if it does include the occasional HBR, is going to pack the pounds back on in a week.

But if I focus on weighing in and logging drinks (there will be no food, there has been no food for 2 days), I might be tempted to try and stay away from medicines I need if they have a bad impact on the scale. Immediate health crisis first (like not being able to swallow or sleep), then long term health issue like weight. I know from experience I shouldn't try tackling both at once.

Be well buddies, and wash your hands.

Sorry to hear about the strep, but I know you'll be back to form after it passes. Bummer about leaving ketosis, but you need to sort this before heading back. Enjoy the hot drinks!
