Had my appointment for fatness. Had labs and EKG. Got prescription for Zepbound and now in process of changing pharmacies because our Walgreens is made up of morons and I was told the savings card won't work because it isn't FDA approved. It is, in fact, FDA approved and has been for a few months- so I switched to another pharmacy. In the meantime- I guess I have hypothyroidism. I definitely have the symptoms- crazy thin hair so I switched to wigs, intolerance to cold, etc... but when I had it checked 7-8 years ago, I was told it was fine so maybe then it was and now it isn't? I'd like to say it is the reason for my weight gain, but I suspect it is the 3000 calorie a day diet. Anyhoo- that's the update. Took my first synthroid today- also Vit D deficient. Supposedly severely deficient= but that seems a bit dramatic to me. I will be thrilled if I get some hair back. I adore my wigs and they are so much prettier than regular hair but when I don't wear a wig- it would be nice to have the option of not looking terrible.

JC, absolutely get checked! When you do make sure they check your T3and T4, not just your TSH. Maybe get a full screening blood work done. I am actually thinking my #s might be off as I’m losing hair, my nails are super brittle and have extreme ridges running through them, and my sleep habits are horrible! That added to despite eating healthy and following my nutritionist’s advice, I’m still not able to lose any weight. I’m calling endocrinologist today to see if he will check my #s. JC do you take collagen powder? I found that it helped me with my hair loss and bonus, my skin looks great.

I agree, writingwyo, with consistency being the key. If your levels are good and you take your synthroid with coffee right after, that’s great! I have settled into a routine of having my pill in a little container on my nightstand along with my water bottle. I usually wake up around 5:30, reach over and take my pill and then go back to sleep for awhile. It’s what works for me. And like you, I take my vitamin D and other supplements with food later in the day.

Diana thanks! Might be good just to be sure. I've got some biotin hair skin and nails vitamins but when I was on them a while ago all that grew was the hair on my kneecaps 😂😂😂

My husband takes his levothyroxine at night to get away from the conflict with food/coffee/multivitamin. Doesn’t bother his sleep. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Broccolibabe- that's what I was thinking, too. I usually lay in bed for a bit on my phone doing my wordle and mini crossword so it would be ideal.

I've been using Hair Envy essential oil by Vitality Extracts and it has helped with new hair growth and non-breakage.
