Uh, no. When I googled "Nutrition in 4 oz chuck roast" I got 335 kcal, 21g of fat (8 of which are saturated), 35g protein. This is raw, so it does not include the butter or oil you're going to marinate and cook it with.

"There are 288 calories in 4 ounces of Beef Chuck (Blade Roast, Trimmed to 1/4" Fat). * The % Daily Value (DV) tells you how much a nutrient in a serving of food contributes to a daily diet.“ but I‘ve also seen 220 cals for the same 1/4“ fat trim

Lol the only time I’ve seen a protein to cal ratio this good is with venison. But chuck roast cals is ranging around 150 difference from different sources. Crucial when I could only afford a 200 deficit

I double check against the USDA data base as we buy our beef from local farmers so no nutrition labels. The USDA defines a lean cut of beef as a 3.5-ounce serving (about 100 grams) that contains less than:
10 grams total fat
4.5 grams saturated fat
95 milligrams cholesterol

It’s a good thing that it’s almost 7bucks a lb. so it won’t be a usual thing 😂

I never cook my roasts in butter or oil. Use your favorite seasoning. I buy corn fed beef from local farmers and I either put it in a crockpot with a little water and just salt and pepper. You do not need anything else becasue the flavor from corn fed beef doesn't require anything else. You can also put in a covered roast pan from frozen for 3 /12 hours with a little water also and just basic seasonings. Throw carrots and potatoes in there and you will just use the fat from the meat. According to the USDA, if you eat only the lean meat, a 3-ounce serving of braised or boiled pot roast has the following nutritional breakdown:
131.7 calories
24.7 grams protein
3.7 grams fat
0 grams carbohydrate

Yeah SG I am dreading buying our next beef knowing what the price is at the market. The one we are still eating off came out to $3.99 a pound for processing and paying the farmer. That is for everything - steaks, roasts and ground beef.

Yea rpl I buy grain fed. There’s no way I could afford grassfed beef. It’s just ridiculous. But I grill mine or air fry, stick a fork in it and if it’s rare then it’s done 😏

Also I have friends in mass. And their beef price is still at 4 dollars a pound. Which is insane cuz I see cow farms in nc everywhere! I might have to buy a half a cow from the farm soon

Nothing beats a nice grilled steak although I will take it medium rare! But have a friend who cooks his black & blue - Charred on the outside but rare in the inside.
