Another day, another journal entry. So I had one of those "Aha" moments today. All my adult life I've been very good about tracking my spending and saving. It has always kept me accountable and has resulted in a comfortable early retirement. With this fatsecret app, it makes doing the same thing wrt to food intake/quality/food group distribution much easier. My brain can better grasp the whole food budget aspect of a lifestyle modification plan. I'm refusing to call it a "diet" as I've been through umpteen of those in my lifetime and none of them in the past made planning, consumption and tracking so easy. Simple to see in advance where the best "spend" of calories and carbs will be. I upgraded to the paid version today, as I am noticing that I don't drink nearly enough and this might help with that as well. It's all about awareness I suppose.
As to the gym today, I'm stiff and sore and likely will be more so tomorrow. I had such a stellar day there on Sunday that 1/3 of the weight equipment exercises I use had become "easy" so had to up the weights on them by another 10 lbs. Body feels like I'm starting the program all over again, but I suppose that is what it takes to develop muscle mass to ultimately boost metabolism. Go mitochondria Go! Much as I have lived like an ostrich with my head in the sand for decades now, I realise that for me, controlled consumption and regular exercise is a must, especially once I get to GW. So mentally, still in a good place. Concerned about future plateaus, but will deal with that when they come.
