That’s super cool!! So, my question is: why are all the bridges different types? Cantilever. Truss. Suspension.

Skytrain, Pattulo, Rail Bridge and the new bridge being built...New West Side, so gangster.

Oh, the bridges are from very different times, Skytrain is suspension, as are all the new Era Bridges in BC, probably an earth quake thing.

Thanks for explaining. I have a fascination with bridges.

I used to commute everyday across that bridge, bad times 😆

In New Brunswick I lived very close to three covered Bridges. (Hampton/Nauwigewauk) I appreciate those bridges more than the Mountains.

Commuting, Patullo or Skytrain? In any case Vancouver just ranked 4th worst city to commute in North America. It's Awful, I can bike to work in 12 minutes driving 30-40. Painful, glad when it's my bike season again.

The city of vancouver is a bad commute by design. They didnt put highways thru the city on purpose. Supposedly so people will use public transit or other forms. Its one of the reasons it ranks very high on desirable cities to live. But for me in Burnaby/Coquitlam its a nightmare from 6 am to 10 am then 2 pm to 7 pm every weekday.

Ha ha, I moved her in 96' Grew up in NB, lived in Montreal, Toronto, and Winnipeg for two and a half years (That city was well designed). The one place I didn't want to live was Vancouver. All my friends from Winnipeg came here, so I joined. Of the 14 People that made the move only 2 lasted past the year 2002 my sister and myself. Majority moved within 4 years, though 8 of them moved in late 94'. The main reason, too expensive and ultimately nothing that special.
