Looking into health insurance for the first time in my life and it's a scam. I only want enough to help pay for skin removal surgery and I found some but it will cost $300 a month. State insurance you have to make less than $14,600 for a household of 3. I make $15,700. So now I'm thinking is it worth losing the rest of my weight. I only have 70 to go. But I'm in more pain physically and emotionally because of the extra skin hanging. I just don't think I can live the rest of my life like this. And to save the money won't happen. We live paycheck to paycheck since I am the only one working out of the 3.

California has people who are effectively insurance guides for seniors. Not to be confused with agents or brokers. Their job is to help people navigate and identify any financial assistance that may be available. Insurance is expensive. You should also make sure that your surgery would be covered before you sign up. Get it in writing for sure.
