On 5 months of no alcohol. So proud. My skin looks better and I think I look better overall. BUT not a single pound lost, in case anyone is wondering. I had a few glasses of wine on weekends, 5 a week? Anyway, I did the experiment for you and it failed😂 But I will keep going because I am almost never bloated now unless hormonal and just feel better. Still depressed AF , so that didnt work either. FYI.

5 a week was before quitting...none since quitting

I would recommend adding more activities or training. Usually a good workout helps confidence and during monthly times. Keep at it your body will show the results of your hard work and sacrifice. Not to lecture you about your wine, just moderate yourself as it does aid in weight gain. Good luck !

Wonderful job. I currently am trying a low histamine diet to try to calm my limbic system. I supplement probiotics to help with gut flora from years of drinking (quit last June) and it has helped me with gas and indigestion. I am talking with an LCSW about my issues, I too suffer with terrible depression. I also am anti-social and don’t care for people much outside of my immediate family. I understand the drain to pretend to be happy, hoping that the ‘fake it til you make it’ sets in and converts to a healthier everyday habit in life. The problem is, it takes a lot of work. The more you do it, the better you will feel about yourself. If nothing works, try getting in touch with your doctor to consider a low dose anti-depressant (if you haven’t already). I can’t take anti-depressants so I have incorporated Norwegian Cod Liver oil. It definitely curbs my lowest lows, however subtle. These treatments all take time to work; several months before seeing any sort of progress. Obviously, not everything is a one size fits all. The thing I am experimenting with right now is CBD oil. It has been working wonders for my sleep, which in turn helps with my depression. Alcohol disrupts my sleep terribly; to the point that I remind myself of this every time I consider having a drink. Hopefully, some of my rambling can help you in some area. I know it sounds so cliché, but you are truly not alone. Take care of yourself, and try to open up to those around you that you do trust. 😊
