Running a bit low with inspiration this week!
So busy at work and stress is the word of the week sadly ! 😐
Went to the grocery store yesterday and I swear, all I could see and lay my eyes on were the cakes, the chocolate, the desserts! Ugh! And plus, passing in front of Harveys on our way there! Temptation is everywhere my friends haha.
I need to find some low carb meals! Some tried and true ones 😊
Any good ideas out there? It would be greatly appreciated 😊 Have a good day guys!

Lean Cuisine’s Sweet and Sour Chicken isn’t bad nutritionally; not that hard to make at home if you don’t want a reddi-meal. The trick seems to be lots of protein, lots of veg, and limited white starches. I’ve had lots of good ideas from other FS members’ journal pictures, too. Happy hunting 😊

I know the feeling. I like baked chicken with salad. One of my favorites when I want low carbs.

Made a HelloFresh dish tonight - green string beans topped with sour cream and crispy onions. So good.

Hanelle & Mammajamma I’m putting those two ideas on my list. Both yummy options! Thank you for the much needed inspiration 😊🙏🏼

… maybe use brown rice instead of white? It has a nice nutty flavour and is generally considered to be a bit healthier. And the extra fibre never hurts. It does take a wee bit longer to prepare, though, so plan for that.

We switched all pastas to ancient grains/whole wheat, white rice to brown, cut potatoes to 2x a week, veggies/salad with at least 2 meals. I am in the process of learning new keto recipes, biscuits are awesome, making hamburger buns and following keto/diabetes friendly recipes. So far, working.

Hi all, I've started trying new (to me anyways) grains. I usually cook them up in a broth of some sort, whatever I'm in the mood for, chicken, beef, mushroom, veggie etc. you get the idea. So, I've tried freekah, a bit chewy and nutty, love it. Now I'm onto farro and that is sooo good. These are high fibre and have a different texture than rice. I add a whack of veggies and call it a meal!

Not sure where you are located but Lavash Flat bread(s) are a game changer if you need something that resembles a wrap. I load mine with G Hugh’s low carb bbq chicken, romain and sauerkraut. Even used them as a pizza base.
