Sara7200's Journal, 20 Oct 21

This isn't diet or exercise related but I need some advice. I have some family problems and don't know what to do. My daughter turned 18 on Monday and moved out without any notice. After she got her presents she had her boyfriend come over and informed us she was moving in with him. I am so upset. I don't think it's a good idea to be living with a boyfriend while still in high school. She has no job. The reason she doesn't want to live with us is she felt like she doesn't fit in and doesn't like my husband. I feel hubby was too hard on her always complaining about everything she did. I tried to talk to him about it but it never did any good. I mean she is right he is always yelling at the kids about something, most of the time it's stupid stuff that isn't a big deal. Now I'm so depressed and I don't know what to do. I cancelled her cell phone, I feel if she doesn't want to live with me why should I pay for a phone for. I feel like she is throwing her life away she should be thinking about college now I worry she won't even graduate from high school. Sorry this is long just looking for advice if anyone has gone through this.

went through something similar with my oldest and learned the hard way that I had to let her make her own mistakes or I would no longer be allowed a place in the life. i still voice my opinion and give her some tough love, like shutting off her phone because she's no longer under my roof, but I make sure she knows that even if she messes up Im still here. not necessarily for her to run back home to, but to support her. You have to learn to let go... if you did your job well, she'll be fine and i think deep down you know that too.
