Sandy701's Journal, 17 Mar 11

Walked my typical 3.3 miles today, 2.6 for the doggies. Another gorgeous blue sky day, although it was in the 50's when we started. I had to stop back at home to change out of my long pants and jacket AND a fleece vest, into shorts and a long sleeve t-shirt; it was warming up that quickly!

I've got some food-related things to do today (so-o-o typical)...got to get the steaks into the marinade so they can be grilled tomorrow or Saturday and I have to run to the local meat market/grocery store to pick up a few specials for the week. The chicken leg quarters are on sale again, so I stock up.

Good afternoon Sandy. I have been meaning to tell you that WalMart has the 10 pound bags of chicken leg quarters for ~$6 all the time, and they are huge and delish. About 10 quarters per bag. Hope your afternoon is wonderful!

@Bren...good for you getting that walk in. Oh, I had another thought about your sister's surgery...she should get herself a temporary handicapped placard for her car. We've obtained one in 2 different states now, and they cost $5- $15 for a given period of time. Just download the application form from her state and take it to the doctor who needs to sign off on it. She could probably get it signed when she goes for a pre-op appt w/the doctor. DH thought it would be wimpy to get one, but it really helped when I had to take him for follow-up appts, PT appts, church, and other places. You can usually move the placard from car to car, so as long as your sister's a passenger, whoever drives her can park in a handicapped parking place. We defnitely got our money's worth from it and it made life a whole lot easier!

Hi Stef. Good thing to know about the chicken at WM. "Our" WM opened recently so we don't have to drive 15 miles to the nearest one anymore. I'll have to check that out. Enjoy your day!

Thanks Sandy, since her surgery is July the 13th we should have plenty of time to get that too. She has already looked into the scooter. Thats good that we can change it from car to car as I will be driving mine. Thanks again buddy.....Have a good evening.....Bren

Hi Stef. We didn't quite hit 80 yesterday, but are supposed to be in that vicinity for the next few days...should be an awesome weekend! Enjoy yours too (hopefully no rain and a bit warmer for you).
