Finally bought my weights - yay!!! Got them at Argos - 20kg total for 39.99. Quality seems fine so far. In the pic is how I'm starting out with 4kg each. I was using 3kg dumbbells at the beginning of the year so I think I'll ease myself into it with these and increase when a certain weight feels easy. The 0.5kg little plates are sitting there waiting to be added. I've left the 2.5kg ones in the box for now. Sure it will be a while before I swap something out for them - and then even longer before I'll be ready for the full load. The heaviest I've gone before is 6.5kg so it would be nice to get back to that soon.

So, my first YouTube weights workout this morning was:

She was working with 10kgs and 15kgs - what a legend!

It was so great being 'back' - for once I didn't have to modify anything. Just need to be careful working out in the lounge that I don't smash the light fitting as I almost did today. I will try to do 3 x 40min workouts this week besides a daily walk of at least 6,000 steps and then take it from there. Calorie-wise last week ended on 1940 daily average so that needs improving. Not doing IF this week because my heart's just not in it right now.

Also got to use my new gloves for the first time. Got them at TK Maxx for 8 pounds - I was so happy to find them and they're perfect! Thanks to little_mermee for posting yours earlier this year or I wouldn't have known to look there. There's a quote by Oscar Wilde, which sums it up nicely - “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery that mediocrity can pay to greatness.” so I hope you don't mind me 'flattering' you :)

Thanks to everyone for the daily inspiration you give - whether it's to go for a walk when I don't really feel like it or seeing the beautiful colourful food - making me consider what I'm putting on my plate too. It is so lovely to see!

There was a message on the App yesterday saying there would be maintenance on the 22nd - I'm hoping it will be some improvements and not more problems. It's still annoying to see lots of foreign language posts and not see people you want to see 3-5 days after they've posted them. It's just been a bit overall glitchy lately.
