Still in San Diego. Went shopping for new clothes with my daughter a couple of days ago and wasn't as depressed about it as I would've been a year ago. Size 10 is about right for me now. I'm having a hard time believing it. I think sizes have been scaled up over the years because I wore size 10s in high school. But it is amazing how wearing properly fitting clothes is more slimming than wearing baggy things, and my size 14s were giving me droopy drawers.
I found a decently reviewed Japanese restaurant and ate there alone last night while my daughter was at work. Eating out alone is something I never do so it was a strange experience. I probably ate 2 more pieces of tempura than I should've, but I did bring home half of the chicken teriyaki and rice.
Went to a bookstore to get On Eating and they didn't have it. Hope I can find it soon.

I don't like to eat out alone on business trips. I think I would tend to eat less though. Sacharine can trigger insulin release too... according to some articles on the internet.

Hooray for size 10! You are so right about the properly fitting clothes...that has been a new thing for me as I've been losing. Before, my goal was to hide all the lumps & bumps by finding stuff that would drape in the right places, & there was all this pulling & tugging that needed to happen all day long. Now I actually look for clothes that are more form-fitting & am realizing they make me look pretty awesome. ;) Enjoy those 10s girl, & have fun in SD!

Properly fitting clothes in the right size have an immense psychological effect.
Sandy Eggo (I think of the place as Gritty Waffle -- I lived in La Jolla and in Pacific Beach from 1988 to 1994) is a wonderful town, enjoy it.
