Sandy701's Journal, 14 Feb 11

DH took doggies for their walk this AM in the warm sunshine (low 50's and climbing rapidly!), so I got to do my own thing.

Took an alternative route taking me down by a lake which is peaceful and just calms me and rejuvenates me deep inside; water always does that for me. Maybe it hearkens back to wonderful days spent on a lake with my grandparents when we all went fishing, I don't know. I also spent a lot of my high school and college summers with jobs on a lake, so to me, being on or near a body of water probably taps back into all that.

Anyway, I walked for an hour. Based on my current 3.3 mph rate of walking, I'm logging 3.3 miles for today's exercise. I really should drive that route to verify that, but there's a part that's on a dirt path that needs to be estimated anyway. It's a close enough estimation to just go by time since I've been tracking my walking rate/speed every so often.

Feeling much better today than yesterday, when I just could not get over the hungries. I really do wonder if it was just that all the commercials featured food, especially chocolate, and all the ads online and in the paper featured tons of chocolate as well. Wasn't hungry for chocolate, just hungry for FOOD!!! Ate an Atkins bar before lunch was ready, but it didn't help. Ate a hard-boiled egg before dinner and it helped for about 30 minutes. A big salad for dinner was the next food item I tried, and it helped somewhat. Was still hungry at bedtime, but I just drank a lot of water (not the best idea just before bed - LOL!) but it was enough for me to go to sleep.

I hope that you have had a really great Valentine's Day Sandy. Three miles would be about 600 calories burned I believe, so that is very good. Keep up the great work buddy!

Thanks Information. The FS calculators don't come up with quite that number of calories burned, but I'll take whatever number I can get! I just need to do some sort of exercise (that doesn't kill me) to try to keep that metabolism going....at least on a moderate simmer. Hope you enjoyed your V-Day too.
