Today is what I'm gonna call a redemption workout! Last Monday, I came in and failed on the second rep at 295 pounds. Today I squatted 10 reps at that weight, then another. 10 at 265. Was gonna go for a final set at 235 AMRAP, but it didn't pass my squat test. Before EVERY set, regardless of weight, I test the squat by getting under the weight and just barely beginning the squat motion back and forth a time or two to test my hips, knees and ankles. The left knee didn't feel well supported, so I racked it, unloaded the bar (PLEASE, always unload the bar. You never know who's gonna need it next or whether they can move the kind of weight you can), and moved on. An estimated 1RM of almost 400 pounds is good enough for me ... for now! New heights with the standing calf raise and the sitting leg curl as well, then 12 min on a bike at an average of 20MPH. Good day in the gym, and I'm feeling powerful TIME TO CHOW DOWN!
