DairyKing's Journal, 06 Mar 14

Good Morning, FS Warriors! Not a lot to tell this morning. Still trucking along. Got up at 4:15, started the next stage of the walk/run program: 7 min running/3 minutes walking (X3). It wasn't that painful; in fact, it felt encouraging in that now that I'm running longer, I only have to repeat 3 times instead of 4. One more day without Jillian. I am having withdrawels, but you know what they say, "Absence makes the heart grow fonder." We'll see. I meet with her again tomorrow. She's getting kind of boring though: wears the same thing every day, says the same thing every day, does the same thing every day. I need variety. Variety is the spice of life. Oh well, maybe she'll come around.

The weather guessers are telling us we will see 50 degrees next week. I'll believe it when I see it, but I'm sure hoping for it. The Farmers Almanac says we are going to get 30 more inches of snow this month. Laugh if you will, but the Farmers Almanac has like an 88% success rate. That's better than the weather guessers.

Keeping my intake in check as well as can be expected. Still not seeing any tremendous movement on the scale, but I know it will happen eventually. I'm not really worried about it. I'm looking slimmer and trimmer, my clothes are fitting better, and I feel a lot more energy. The weight will eventually come off, because it's just plain physics - as long as I don't get discouraged and blow it. I'm in this for the long haul this time. Well, here's wishing all my FS Friends a warm and wonderful Thursday. Toodles!

Where do you live DairyKing? I'm in MN and I swear, if we get 30 more inches, I'm going to get homicidal! :)

Steph, I'm in central illinois. This was a record snowfall year for us here. I don't think we got all that much at one time, but it came often.

Same here - one large snowfall a couple of weeks ago but other than that, just steady. Ugh.

Oh please don't let your workout get boring add your own spice to it. You've been doing so well working with Jillian there must be other workouts that you can try and put in a rotation. Have a great day!

Could you guys send some of your weather to Northern California. All of our lakes are drying up from our drought.

I'm not sure which of Jillian's workouts you have, but I have both Ripped in 30 and 30 day shred. And I konw she has a few others out there too. If you alternate them and then alternate between the different workouts on each DVD, it helps to keep the interest up. I think they are both pretty comparable as far as difficulty.

Its definitely in the way you feel and the way your clothes fit. Here is to hoping the weather guessers and Almanac are both wrong and its 70 and sunny tomorrow. One can hope.

tglenna, do all of her videos require you to watch 5 minutes of informercial before you can get started. I try to fast forward, but I get this raised hand which means "Stop, you can't do that." How annoying! I don't want to buy the Biggest Loser DVD's; just let me get on with the workout. Now, I turn on the DVD, get on the treadmill and let the DVD lead-in run till it's tired.

We definitely need that 50 degrees ; not the 30 inches! I hate getting bored with workouts. I'll be glad when this weather does straighten up and we can all be more active outdoors. Good Luck!

Well, I was doing pretty good until I decided to visit the vending machine this afternoon. Who da thunk a little bag of fritos was 320 calories? Then DW decided to make a country breakfast for supper. Biscuits shure were good, and I guess the rest of it was also. Oh well, there's always next week.

Good question - I think they do all have the intro to sit through. Usually I turn it on and use the time to put on my shoes and get my water, etc.

Oh, and it isn't just Jillian. We are doing P90X3 and they are the same way. We turn it on and do other stuff till it is ready to roll.

DK What time do you go to bed that you're able to rise and shine at 4:15a.m.? Or are you one of those lucky folks who do well with 4 hours of sleep?

Well, I go to bed at 10 pm, and usually get up between 3:30 and 4:15, depending on how tired I was when I went to bed. I don't know that I do well on 5 or 6 hours sleep, but I've been doing it so long, I guess I've gotten used to it. I'll probably sleep a little longer when I retire the next time.

You're functioning, that's what matters.
