Gorgeous greens that are not so green! Oh my. You’re inspiring me to visit the farmers market soon! 

Gib - I saw pink and almost black lettuces and I was absolutely in. 🙂 Bear- I thought the same thing! 

makes for a colourful salad, or wraps for anything. have you eaten this before and if so what do they taste like, sweet? bitter? nutty? fishy? and how much carbs are in them? sorry for the many questions. just intrigued.  

Hi KDS - I was prepared for all of them to be more bitter like radicchio or endive - but they are just like any other lettuce. The dark green/black one is a little like spinach. The two pink ones are more like butter lettuce. I'm running them at the same numbers as romaine or "mixed salad greens" because they're just really pretty lettuces.  

They don't really look too crispy 

The pic doesn't really capture their texture but they are. More like a butter lettuce than romaine, but still crisp.

Thank you, they are a beautiful breed of goodness right there. Can't wait to see if the farmers market around me will have something of the sort. Enjoy and looking forward to seeing what you make of it.
